Chocolate Marshmallow Pudding


– 5 ½ oz of canned chocolate syrup
– 3 cups of milk
– ¼ cup of sugar
– Dash of salt
– 3 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
– 1 medium egg, well beaten
– 1 teaspoon of vanilla
– Marshmallows


– Add the chocolate syrup to the milk and scald.
– Mix together the sugar, salt, flour and beaten egg, with a little water to thin if necessary.
– Pour about half of the scalded milk over the egg mixture, then return to pan and cook until the mixture just begins to boil.
– Remove from the heat and add the vanilla.
– Pour into a 1 ½ quart baking dish, then top with marshmallows and brown in a 400°F (205°C) oven.
– Chill and serve.
